TEDxUCDavis is proud to present our Spring 2017 Conference: Generation Why?
Our generation is the most connected and informed generation to date. Rapidly advancing technology and mobile devices give us updates on news and people across the globe. More than anything, we are exposed to various ways of living and opinions that lead us to question our own beliefs. With this event, our aim is to continue exposing the Davis community to new ideas and thoughts that challenge the status quo. We want to encourage curiosity and thirst for knowledge, and as Walt Whitman famously said, "Be curious, not judgmental."
A ticket gives you access to:
- An evening of inspiring speakers - see list of them here!
- Two musical performances
- A catered dinner (included in the ticket price!)
We hope you will join us for this exciting event!
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to ideas worth spreading. It started out as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: technology, entertainment, and design.
TED's mission is spreading ideas. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately, the world. So we’re building here a clearinghouse that offers free knowledge and inspiration from the world’s most inspired thinkers, and also a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each other.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized and are subject to certain rules and regulations.
